Negative Worms in Reaction Diffusion

In the next few days I’m going to look at reaction diffusion models which occur at specific locations on the u-skate boundary (as I discussed in my previous post, it is important to keep track of these values).

Up until now, I had been creating my reaction diffusion models in processing, but I found a program called ready which implements (amongst many other models) reaction diffusion. It works extremely well and gives you a better preview of what is going on at every stage of the process, plus it handles larger models much better.

At F = 0.059, k = 0.034, we get a model which creates negative worms in the space of the bounding box, over time the worms become more and more serpentine and try to settle. Here’s the result
