Anytime you do a do a google search for parametric architecture, you’re bound to come across Zaha Hadid’s Kartal-Pendik Masterplan for Istanbul. For a while I’d been wondering how to model something like it, I’d tried before, but the attempt had never been quite so successful. But I decided to try it again, and achieved (in my mind) a decent result. This was modelled in grasshopper. The basic process was creating surface trims, mapping corner pieces to each of those trims, extruding them, and finally smoothing them in weaverbird. And to finish off, I ran a purely ambient occlusion render in 3ds max.
